News for Today

Calling all creative writers!  If you have a piece of creative writing that you are proud of, please consider submitting this piece of work for the St. Charles open mic night, Fiction on the Fox, where you can read your story aloud and celebrate creative writing.  Submissions are due by April 1st.  For more details about submitting your work or the event in general, see the flyers around school, talk to your language arts teacher. 

Congratulations to Mitchell Marc who qualified as a state finalist for the National Geographic Geography Bee March 31st at ISU. Mitchell will compete against 99 other qualifiers for a chance to represent Illinois at the National Bee in Washington DC in May. Good luck Mitchell!

The 8th grade girls “A” basketball team finished of their regular season in impressive fashion as they beat Yorkville by the score of 34-10. The girls will begin the playoffs next week. Wish them all luck!

The 8th grade girls B basketball team fought a hard fight until the bitter end, but the Yorkville Foxes proved to be too much. Miss Gutshall is so proud of the hard work you all put in this season! Wish the girls good luck as they head into the conference tournament next week!

Dance Troupe: Great job last night! Miss Shield and Mrs. Richards are very proud of all of you. There will be no practice after school tomorrow.

Seventh-graders interested in track and field this spring should attend the informational meeting next Tuesday at 7:55 in the gym. The 8th-grade meeting will be next Wednesday at 7:55, also in the gym.
